If noise makers are harming our children’s health & future why we would sit indifferent, for a long wait years!
“There is really no such thing as Tough ears or Getting used to it.”
Therefore, noise pollution is a serious health harming issue in Bangladesh.
Noise pollution reasons severe negative social, psychological, cognitive and health disaster. As a matter of fact hearing-impaired people experiences distorted and incomplete communication that leads to negative impacts of higher degree in their professional and personal lives, at times leading to isolation and withdrawal.
Noise pollution with no doubt is causing us temporary or permanent deafness, Tinnitus (body generated tone in our ears), hyperacusis (panic attack), ischemic heart disease, heart attack, abortion, pupil dilation, digestive problems, mental illness, premature ejaculation, etc.
Hypertension, memory disturbance, headache, men’s less efficiency, sleep & speech interference are mainly caused by noise pollution!
In a nutshell, noise pollution can be the reason of happening disruption and imbalance in human & animal life.
Victims are Human, Animal, Property & Nature.
Noise makers are “we”, ourselves. We are causing road traffic noise, noise sourced out from industries, machines, power generation units, home appliances, commercial appliances, construction noise, and noise generated from aircraft, firecrackers, gathering, concerts, public addressing systems, etc.
Noise making systems should soon be confiscated and Govt. should ensure that the noise makers or agencies should not go unpunished.
This noise pollution issue is not funny anymore in Bangladesh. We have got a proactive team in DOE, a no-compromising Government at hand, and we have expertise at any level. The Noise Pollution (Control) Rules 2006 is there and revisited soon, deployment of rules is necessary immediately.
On the 28th of March 2017, a successful discussion meeting & seminar was held naming “Awareness, Effective Methods & Technologies for Controlling Noise Pollution.” The event was jointly organized by SoundPLAN Germany & DOE, Bangladesh and presided over by Mr. Raisul Alam Mondal, Director General, DOE – Bangladesh. Several Govt. and non-Govt. top officials were present before the seminar.
